Best Comedy Movies/series on Netflix
As the summer draws to a close, Netflix is discontinuing some of its funniest shows. In one of the biggest single-month purges we can recall, six films that were on our list for August were removed from the streamer at the beginning of September. However, there is still a wide selection of comedy available, and a few high school classics have made a comeback, just in time for the start of the new academic year. Now is your chance to watch the movies that kept your parents, older relatives, aunts, and uncles entertained when they were in high school if you're a teen and have never seen Superbad or Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Add these two to Bridesmaids, Groundhog Day, Slap Shot, Coming to America, The Jerk, and the You won't have any trouble finding a funny movie to watch on Netflix if you watch the first two Monty Python films as well as the other films on our list.
Let's quickly browse some of the funniest Netflix movies available right now. Again, for the purposes of these rankings, I'm considering a film's humor as well as its technical quality, so you might see some incredibly funny comedies that aren't all that highly-regarded by critics rank higher than better-reviewed, more technically accomplished movies.
The top comedy movies on Netflix as of September 2023 are listed below

Arthur and his knights must make increasingly ridiculous plant life sacrifices to the Knights Who Say 'Ni!' in order to continue their journey. The team arrives at the dangerous Bridge of Death, where they must successfully solve three puzzles. Each riddle is incredibly challenging and has absurd results, which puts their intelligence and endurance to the test. The knights finally make it to Castle Aaaargh, which is close to where the Holy Grail is purported to be. The French Taunters, meanwhile, who are led by a snobbish Frenchman (John Cleese), protect the castle and abuse the knights ruthlessly. The knights' wild and unexpected invasion of the castle marks the series' ridiculous climax. The Holy Grail is finally found by the knights in the last episode, only to be met by its mysterious guardian, a magical character portrayed by Terry Gilliam.
